It's Friday! A Good Friday indeed! I'm feeling super refreshed and energized after my 3 day Vim + Vigor cleanse.

It was definitely a difficult 3 days. Looking back I think most of it was mind over matter. Throughout the whole cleanse there wasn't really a point where I was starving or I had my infamous hunger headaches. The second day was the hardest for me. I found that I had to constantly keep drinking water in order to keep my stomach full. On the third day I already felt more energy and the day flew by. I was able to hit up happy hour with my girlfriends and wasn't even tempted to drink or eat! Once my cleanse was over I didn't even have a real meal until lunch and opted for another juice for breakfast. Today I feel less bloated, my skin has definitely cleared up, and my energy level has been great! I'm trying to slowly incorporate real food into my diet again. I feel like the cleanse was the perfect way to recharge and jump start my healthy lifestyle back up again. So what's my verdict on Vim + Vigor's 3 day cleanse? I absolutely love it!

The weekend is finally here! I'm going to do my best to not completely waste the 3 day cleanse by going crazy this weekend. I even skipped out on a Rangers game on Saturday for the sake of staying healthy! I'm looking forward to enjoying my last weekend as a 28 year old. Eeek, yes someones birthday is just a few days away! I hope this Holy weekend is spent with those you love and Happy Easter everyone!

Vim + Vigor: Day 2

9:04 am: I can't believe I survived last night without popping a piece of bacon in my mouth. Surprisingly not feeling any hunger pains this morning. But I definitely have a weird feeling in my stomach and it's definitely growling at me this morning. I imagine it trying to tell me "WTF is going on out there? You had one job, one job! That mouth was made to eat food!".

11:57 am: I'm out running errands and didn't realize I would be gone this long. Thank goodness my sister is bringing me 2 more bottles to hold me over. As long as I stay busy I'm not really thinking about food and feeling pretty good! Geez, this car is a hot mess.

2:45 pm: Why am I at Whole Foods during a cleanse?! Oh, because my sister didn't get enough bottles for her cleanse! Being here is pure torture! I'm just going to stand in front of the pizza counter and smell it. Does it count if I just chew the pizza then spit it back out?

4:48 pm: Damn, I'm hungry. My stomach is going crazy growling. Two more bottles. The body is willing, but the spirit is weak. Who am I kidding? The body is definitely not willing and the spirit is freaking hungry!

7:09 pm: I'm going to attempt to go on a run tonight because the weather is just perfect. Not before sending my friend a text for good measure.

9:03 pm: Running was a fail. The Mindy Project popped up on TV and distracted me from the noises coming from my stomach. Tonight was the hardest. My stomach was growling and I just miss the act of eating food. I'm going to bed. One more day. Good night.

Vim + Vigor: Day 1

9:24 am: The No. 1 juice isn't bad. I feel pretty good for no caffeine and breakfast on a Monday morning! This  is going to be a walk in the park.

11:00 am: The No. 2 juice is too sour for my taste buds. This bottle is supposed to purify and regulate me? It's gonna take more than a bottle of juice to purify this chick. I'm feeling okay. I should probably stop looking at videos of pasta and Japanese food. Are my trips to the bathroom enough cardio for the day?

12:10 pm: Lunch at my desk with a bottle...and not the good kind. No.3 isn't bad compared to No.2. That second one was tough to finish. Still feeling pretty good!

2:07 pm: No. 4 was delicious! My favorite so far! My desk is a complete mess. Water and juice bottles everywhere. I decided to stop walking to the recycle bin after every bottle. Way too much walking going on today.

3:54 pm: One word. Hunger. I'm already planning my meals once this debauchery is over with. Wait, what was the point of this again? Crap, why is this on my desk?!

5:32 pm: Alright I have my gym clothes on and I'm gonna head to the gym for a quick run and weights. Let me just lie down real quick...

7:59 pm: WTF just happened. I hate falling asleep with my bra and contacts on. Why do I smell bacon downstairs?! I'm starving and all I have are two bottles of juices to look forward to. When is the last time I ate real bacon? How does Gwyneth Paltrow do this?!

9:53 pm: Due to the best nap ever I had to down those two bottles and boy was that difficult! I can't stop staring at the plate of bacon and bag of Cheetos across from me as I drink my dinner alone. Why are those two things even in this house right now?! I can't stop thinking about food. This might have been the hardest hour all day.

10:53 pm: I forced myself into bed to stop me from devouring any food I have downstairs. It's cold and I'm starving. I might as well be homeless on the streets. Homeless on the streets of Dallas, but at least I have my $135.00 bottles of juices and a bangin' bod. Tomorrow might be Hell on earth.

Vim + Vigor

My body has been begging for me to go on a cleanse for some time now. I wanted to do a 3 day cleanse to detox all the junk that's been in my body. After much research I finally decided to try out Vim + Vigor. I definitely wanted to try a juice bar that was based in Dallas. Vim + Vigor's juices are carried at Whole Foods Market. The only retailer in Dallas where you can pick up a full cleanse kit would be at Number One Cafe in Highland Park Village. One of the main reasons I wanted to test out a cleanse that was local was to save a few bucks with the shipping and handling fees. Juice cleanses aren't cheap and I definitely didn't want anything that was going to break the bank. Vim + Vigor's pricing varies from which cleanse you choose and how many days you plan to cleanse. I wanted to do the 3 day Intermediate cleanse which retailed at $165.00.

I emailed the company to see if there were any other options closer to my location to purchase a cleansing kit. I was extremely impressed with their customer service! Liz emailed me back within 10 minutes and gave me a list of juices I could purchase at my local Whole Foods that would replicate the intermediate cleanse kit.

Liz was super helpful and kept in touch all weekend to answer all my questions! There's a bit of a variation to the cleanse since Whole Foods doesn't sell certain juices that are included in the cleanse kit. The juices in the cleanse kit she recommended are similar if not already included in the cleanse. Since the bottles at Whole Foods are 12 oz versus the full 16.9 oz bottles she recommended 7 bottles per day rather than 6. My total for this 3 day cleanse was about $135.00. Whole Foods had each bottle at $6.99 but at checkout found that there was a discount and saved about $15.00.

You can read about all their juices here. Here's what she recommended for my 3 day juice cleanse.  For the next 3 days I'll drink 7 juices (No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 1, & No.2) every two hours in that order. One of the biggest differences in creating my own cleanse kit was that Whole Foods doesn't carry their No.12 bottle which is pretty much an almond milk to end the day with. Liz suggested purchasing any almond milk to sip on at the end of the day if I was still hungry. She also advised me to listen to my body and if I was starving at any time during the cleanse raw veggies or raw almonds were acceptable snacks. No caffeine and plenty of water for the next 3 days!

I start this bad boy today and I will do a daily update for the next three days on my Vim + Vigor experience. RIP to the past few months of absolute laziness and bad habits. It's about damn time.

Afternoon tea for my friend's bridal shower. I love anything and everything girly. The Chocolate Angel Cafe & Tearoom was the cutest place for a little girl time.

I'm obsessed with my Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon. Hands down the best eyeliner I've ever tried. This baby is long lasting and doesn't smudge. Love it.

Adorable centerpiece from the bridal shower that I scooped up. It's the perfect addition to my little work space at home.

I've been a little nostalgic lately. Missing home before I've even left. I've been dedicating #TBT as my own personal travel diary and good times with the people I love. Yesterday's post was from a hike to Manoa Falls in Oahu. Follow me on Instagram here

You know you're getting old when one box of birthday candles isn't enough for your age. I wish we were celebrating our 24th birthday.

It's Friday! My weekend started last night with a late night celebration of all our friend's April birthdays. When I say late night I mean being home by 11:00 pm. The rest of my weekend is filled with another birthday celebration and a wedding. Preparing myself to be completely exhausted on Monday! Have a wonderful weekend!

Dallas Bucket List

Texas gal to Florida. This tank was a necessity.

It's officially 43 days until the move to Florida! I made a bucket list of things I wanted to do before I leave the Big D. Just a compilation of things I love about home! Figures majority of the list includes eating and drinking. Typical. I really just want to mark things off the list to be able to spend some time with friends and family before I leave! The other night I was able to hang out with some old friends and marked off two more things from my list! I feel very thankful to have friends that I might not see often, but whenever we are able to meet up we pick up right where we left off.  Cheers to that! Well, here's my Dallas bucket list!

1. Run on Katy trail
2. Run at White Rock
3. Popcorn chicken at Bethany's
4. Karaoke night
5. One last dinner at Caravelle
6. Chow down at Emporium Pies
7. A night at my favorite neighborhood bar
8. Eat a really good bowl of pho
9. Enjoy the weather and live music at The Rustic
10. Grab all my favorite treats at Trader Joe's
11. Cupcakes and ice cream at Sprinkle's
12. Dame's dinner with the girls
13. Tuesday nights at The Porch
14. Dallas Farmer's Market and wait in line for Pecan lodge. Oh, Texas BBQ
15. Drink. Get hungover. Then enjoy a badass bowl of Bun Bo Hue
16. Lazy afternoon at Klyde Warren Park
17. Dinner and drinks at my favorite hole in the wall Italian restaurant
18. Happy hour at Kona
19. Enjoy my last few days of Yoga at Sunstone
20. Korean fried chicken
21. Shark Club. Don't ask
22. A Bellini at Grapevine Bar
23. A night at Village Burger Bar playing Heads Up.
24. Bubble tea at Fat Straws
25. Sunday Funday
26. Beers at Katy Trail Ice House
27. Truck Yard

I have a feeling the next few weeks are going to fly by so fast. I'm gonna try my best to hit up everything before I leave. Stay tuned to see how successful this turns out! Any other suggestions on great local hot spots? Hope you're having a great week! One more day until the weekend!

I was supposed to be flying off to one of my favorite cities today. New Orleans! Pretty much all of Dallas will be invading Bourbon, so get ready NOLA. With the big move coming up I decided it might be best for me to take care of some things at home and lay low. To the bachelorette and birthday celebrants celebrating this weekend, cheers and drink one for me! To ease the pain of being stuck here in Dallas, here are a few of my favorite things from the past week!

I love New Orleans! I love the food, the hand grenades, and the spirit that city has. Throwback to one of my many NOLA trips.

Divergent would have been one of the last movies you would ever catch me watching. Until this little hottie popped up on screen. Theo James, I am sprung on you. Can't wait to watch it...again.

One of my best friends from LA asked me if I wanted to do a juice cleanse with her next week. We're attempting to try out a 3 day cleanse from Pressed Juicery. It's down the street from her place and delivers pretty quickly for me. Stay posted to see how this nonsense turns out.

Two things. I found a playlist on Spotify full of NSYNC songs. And I can't stop listening to JT's new single "Not a Bad Thing". JT our love story just never ends.

I love The Everygirl website. Fun and empowering reads for every girl! Fell in love with this phone case that felt just perfect for me.

Hope your weekend is filled with relaxation and good times! Have a fabulous weekend!

Oh my, this week has flown by! This past week has been full of sunshine and excitement for me. In good time, my happy news shall unfold itself. Let's get the weekend started with a few of the things I'm currently lovin'!

Spring has definitely sprung. Dallas sunshine has made for some amazing evening runs.

Fresh flowers and coffee. Weekly staples.

Ready to hit the Dallas Farmer's market for some fresh fruits and veggies.

Finding inspiration in the simple things.

I have been on a bubble tea kick all week. Good for the soul, bad for the figure.

Hope the Monday to Friday grind wasn't too painful for ya! The only thing on my agenda is a fun GNO with a few pretty ladies. I'm ready to finally jump start my workout routine and get it goin' again. I'm all about getting some good runs in and killer yoga sessions this weekend. Enjoy the first weekend of Spring and have a fabulous weekend!

Weekend Recap

What follows a Sunday wedding? Monday hangover. I'm actually feeling pretty good this morning and I have a bowl of ramen and slices of pizza to thank for that. This weekend was such a whirlwind, I found myself waking up without Monday's post ready to go. I'm pretty sure anything I attempt to write about is going to make absolutely no sense at this point. So I'll let the pictures do the talking. This past weekend was all about enjoying the short lived fabulous weather and indulging in a few drinks here and there. Also, celebrating some ridiculously awesome news that I can't wait to share with you guys! Here's my weekend recap via Instagram!

Coffee & cupcakes at Klyde Warren Park.

Mac N Cheese & french fries at Pepper Smash. The only two things I'm sure about in this life.

Beer flights on the patio at The Ginger Man.

Congratulations to the newly wedded Mr & Mrs. Hall!

One of my favorite venues in Dallas. The Room on Main. The gorgeous bride and groom during their first dance.

The sun came out to play for a bit in the morning. Mimosas & heels make for a happy Sunday.

Who doesn't love a cute centerpiece?

I think our selfie with the bride & groom was just as epic as the famous Oscar selfie.

I hope your weekend was filled with just as much happiness with family and friends. Congratulations once again to my good friends Tasha and Jon! It was a beautiful wedding and I couldn't be happier for the both of you! Happy Monday and Happy St. Patrick's day friends! I've had more than enough of my share of celebration over the weekend so my St.Patty's day will definitely be 'turnt down'. Can't wait to get through today and get back in bed. Let's make it a good Monday y'all.
